Le premier chantier du projet VN Fouta terminé !

La case de santé de Mboloyel, premier chantier réalisé dans le cadre du projet VN Fouta au Sénégal, a été réceptionnée provisoirement le 30 mars 2018 par l'association Kawral (maître d'ouvrage), en présence d'acteurs locaux (institutionnels, techniques, organisations de la société civile, bénéficiaires, etc.), des partenaires du projet (Equipe VN Fouta, Maison des Yvelines) et de l'entreprise Habitat Moderne.

Ce bâtiment de 89 m2 a été réalisé en 3 mois par l'entrepreneur Richard Somda (Habitat Moderne) et son équipe de 9 maçons (dont 1 jeune du village ayant souhaité s'impliquer dans la formation), un délai rapide favorisé à la fois par les efforts fournis par le maître d'ouvrage et l'efficacité de l'équipe de maçons VN.

Le Conseil Départemental de Matam, représenté par M. Hamidou Sow, chargé de la coopération, a renouvelé sa volonté de continuer d'accompagner les villages dans la réalisation de bâtiments communautaires et de fournir très prochainement les équipements nécessaires au bon fonctionnement de la case de santé de Mboloyel.

Le président de l'association Kawral a partagé sa satisfaction au nom de tout le village : « Au début nous étions réticents, mais après la visite de la maison des Yvelines nous étions convaincus. Nous sommes satisfaits de la qualité, de la rapidité des travaux et du confort. Nous avons découvert cette autre technique de construction en terre, et nous sommes fières de bénéficier d'une structure sanitaire en Voûte Nubienne. »

Deux autres bâtiments sont en cours de réalisation dans le cadre du projet VN Fouta : l'Hôtel de Département de Matam et une maternité à Polel.

The first building of the NV Fouta project completed!

The Mboloyel health centre, the first completed building in the NV Fouta project in Senegal, was handed over on March 30th 2018 by the Kawral Association (contractor), in the presence of local actors (institutional, technical, civil society, beneficiaries etc.), the project partners (the VN Fouta team, Maison des Yvelines) and builder Habitat Moderne.

This building of 89 m2 was completed rapidly in three months by the entrepreneur Richard Somda (Habitat Moderne) and his highly effective team of 9 NV masons (including one young man from the village who wanted to be trained).

The Conseil Départemental of Matam, represented by M. Hamidou Sow, responsible for cooperation, repeated his commitment to help villages in the construction of community buildings, and to furnish the new health centre as soon as possible with the equipment it needs.

The president of the Kawral Assciation shared his satisfaction on behalf of the entire village: « We were reticent to begin with, but after visiting the Maison des Yvelines we were convinced. We are very satisfied with the quality and comfort of the building, and the speed with which it was completed. We have now discovered another technique for earth construction and are proud to benefit from this NV health centre.»

Two other buildings are under construction as part of the NV Fouta project: Matam County Hall and a maternity clinic at Polel.

Le premier bâtiment de santé en VN construit au Ghana

Après plus d'un an de préparation, le chantier de la maternité de Balungu (région de Bolgatanga) a demarré au début du mois de février. Ce projet, financé par l'ONG locale Peal Deng et validé par le Ministère régional de la santé, marque une étape importante dans le développement du programme d'AVN au Ghana. En effet, il s'agit du premier bâtiment de santé VN construit dans le pays depuis l'ouverture du programme en 2014, résultant d'une collaboration fructueuse avec une organisation de la société civile et des acteurs institutionnels.

De plus, ce chantier va permettre le renforcement des compétences de l'offre locale puisque 5 apprentis ghanéens y bénéficierons d'un programme de formation « sur chantier entier » [1] par un maçon formateur burkinabé.

L'équipe d'AVN souhaite que ce bâtiment devienne un exemple à l'échelle locale, afin d'impulser la construction d'autre bâtiments de santé et d'améliorer plus largement les conditions de soins dans le Nord du Ghana. L'ONG Peal Deng projette déjà de construire 2 maternités supplémentaires dans la région de l'Upper-East, dès la saison prochaine.

The first NV healthcare building in Ghana

After over a year of preparation, work started at the beginning of February on the construction of a maternity clinic in Balungu (Bolgatanga region). This project, financed by the local NGO Peal Deng and approved by the regional Ministry of Health, represents a major stage in the development of AVN-Ghana's programme: it is the first NV health centre to be built in the country since the start of the programme in 2014, the result of a fruitful collaboration between a civil society organisation and institutional agencies.

Moreover, the building site will help strengthen the local skills base, as five Ghanaian apprentices will benefit from complete on-site [1] training by a NV trainer mason from Burkina Faso.

The AVN team hopes that this will also serve as a local demonstration building, to promote the construction of other clinics and to generally improve health care in northern Ghana. The Peal Deng NGO is already planning the construction of two more maternity clinics in the Upper-East region for next season.
