    At the beginning of January Alexe Dembélé, AVN-Mali’s National Coordinator invited Amadou Tall, local representative of the Kounda 78 Association and Mr. Barry, President of the Lontou Education Council, to a preliminary meeting to discuss an eventual partnership for the construction of school buildings in the Circle of Kayes.   • Mali: a NV building for the Mopti region

    The first community construction site of the 2017-18 season in Mali, initiated by the French Bilou-Toguna Association for the Malian NGO Delta-Survie of Mopti, was completed at the end of December. This 37 m2 dormitory was built in a few weeks by a young Malian artisan mason, Abdoulaye Fané, and his team. This is one of the few NV buildings in the Mopti region, after those completed near Badiangara.

    On September 15th last, AVN-Mali was invited by the Prefect of Dioïla Circle to take part in International Literacy Day, in the presence of M. Mohamed Ag Erlaf, Mali’s Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and National Languages.

  • Mali: A Nubian Vault curriculum at the Centre de Formation Professionnelle of Tominian / CFP-Tom

    Fousseny Dangnoko, Director of the Centre de Formation Professionnelle of Tominian (San region) and Thomas Granier, co-founder and CEO of AVN signed a partnership agreement in February for the development of a pilot training module in the Nubian Vault technique.

    Since 2007, the deployment of the programme in Mali has enabled the completion of more than 3,000 NV projects for the benefit of more than 25,000 people. 405 apprentices, masons, craftsmen and VN entrepreneurs are active in the market and 5 local employees and many partners involved in the dissemination of the programme.

    Début janvier, Alexe Dembélé, Coordinateur National d’AVN Mali a convié M. Amadou Tall, correspondant local de l’association Kounda 78 et M. Barry, Président du Conseil d’Education de Lontou, à une rencontre préliminaire dans la perspective d’un partenariat pour la construction de bâtiment éducatifs en VN dans le cercle de Kayes.

  • Mali : un bâtiment VN pour la région de Mopti

    Le premier chantier communautaire de la saison 17-18 au Mali, mis en œuvre par l’Association Française Bilou-Toguna au profit de l’ONG Malienne Delta-Survie de Mopti s’est achevé fin décembre. La construction de ce centre de santé de 37 m2 a été réalisée par un jeune artisan maçon malien, Abdoulaye Fané, et son équipe, en l’espace de quelques semaines. Ce bâtiment est l’une des rares VN construites dans la région de Mopti, après celles construites vers Badiangara.

  • Mali : l’éducation et le développement rural au coeur du programme d’AVN

    Le 15 septembre dernier, AVN-Mali a été invitée par le Préfet du Cercle de Dioïla à participer à la Journée internationale de l’alphabétisation, en présence notamment de M. Mohamed Ag Erlaf, Ministre malien de l’Education de Base, de l’Alphabétisation et des Langues Nationales.
    Malgré une amélioration visible sur les 15 dernière années, le taux d’alphabétisation des populations rurales au Mali est estimé à moins de 40% . Le manque d’infrastructure adaptée en est l’une des causes principales ; c’est pourquoi (...)
