• AVN at the World Urban Forum

  Cécilia Rinaudo, AVN Deputy Director, took part last February in the World Urban Forum 9 (WUF9), the first global meeting organised by UN-Habitat following the Habitat III Conference in Quito in 2016, at which the new urban agenda was adopted. Over 22,000 participants from 165 countries took part to exchange views and experiences on urban challenges.

• Climate Chance: the mobilisation of non-state actors for the climate

  The meeting of non-state actors concerned about the climate - Climate Chance - took place last September in Agadir (Morocco), bringing together 5000 participants of 80 different nationalities from NGO’s and territorial collectivities. For this second meeting particular emphasis was placed on the state of climate actions in favour of African countries, and, more widely, other countries of the global South.

• The NV Maison des Yvelines winner of the low-carbon Green Solutions Award

  November 15th last, during the COP23 meeting in Bonn, AVN received the low-carbon building prize from the Green Solutions Awards / Construction21, for the Maison des Yvelines project in Ourossogui, northern Senegal.

• The SE4ALL Initiative: a theatre forum to raise awareness about sustainable energy in Burkina Faso

  As part of the UN initiative « Sustainable Energy for All» (SE4ALL), AVN and the Organisation Catholique pour le Développement et la Solidarité – OCADES - Caritas of Dédougou organised a theatre-forum at the end of January in Ouroubonon, to raise awareness about how households can improve access to good quality renewable energy; this was organised in collaboration with the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in Burkina and the Mayor of Boromo. • AVN Burkina awarded the special SIERO Eco-Habitat prize

  After participating in Ouagadougou’s Salon International l’Environnement et des Énergies Renouvelables (SIERO) last season, AVN Burkina Faso was awarded the special SIERO Eco-Habitat prize for sustainable development. Two major prizes and eight special prizes were awarded at the 6th anniversary of the Salon in May 2017.

• Partenariat AVN/ONU-Habitat : faire de l’accès au logement décent pour tous une priorité

  Un an après sa victoire aux World Habitat Awards, AVN vient de signer avec ONU-Habitat un protocole d’entente visant la mise en œuvre d’activités conjointes liées à la promotion de l’accès au logement abordable et durable pour tous en Afrique. Cet accord vient fixer un cadre de coopération concrétisant pour les deux parties une collaboration initiée il y a plusieurs années, et motivée par des objectifs communs.

• L’Ambassadeur de France en visite à Boromo

  L’Ambassadeur de France au Burkina Faso, M. Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, accompagné d’une délégation d’une dizaine de personnes de l’Ambassade française, sont venus rencontrer l’équipe nationale d’AVN à Boromo au début du mois. Cette visite a été l’occasion pour l’ensemble des invités de découvrir des bâtiments VN en milieu rural, et d’être sensibilisés aux performances de la solution technique (confort thermique/esthétique/acoustique, durabilité) et à sa méthodologie de diffusion. • L’Association la Voûte Nubienne reçoit le World Habitat Awards à Nairobi

  La cérémonie de remise des World Habitat Awards a eu lieu lundi 8 mai 2017 à Nairobi, à l’occasion de la plénière d’ouverture du 26e Conseil d’Administration d’ONU-Habitat. Ce rassemblement biennal accueille toute la semaine les représentants des Etats-membres pour la mise en œuvre du nouvel Agenda Urbain, au regard des Objectifs de Développement Durable et des Accords de Paris sur le climat.

• AVN au colloque Terra Education III

  Début juin, Noureddine Aichour, Responsable du Pôle Formation d’AVN a participé au colloque international Terra Education III présentant les dynamiques actuelles en termes d’enseignement supérieur, de formation professionnelle, de recherche, et de diffusion des savoirs en matière d’architecture de terre. Cet événement regroupait de nombreux professionnels engagés dans la promotion de l’architecture de terre, majoritairement issus du monde universitaire.
