• AVN voted a winner of the Grand Prix de l’innovation urbaine Le Monde Cities

  The jury of the prize for urban innovation awarded by the prestigious French newspaper Le Monde is made up of experts from round the world (politicians, researchers, corporate and foundation directors, architects, and urbanists). In this the fifth year of operation of the Prize, the jury has awarded the Grand Prix to AVN for its programme of adapted housing and construction in West Africa.

• Burkina Faso: AVN at the International Salon on Renewable Energy

  AVN took part in the Salon International des Énergies Renouvelables (SIERO) of Ouagadougou at the beginning of May, along with some 30 NGO’s who came to present their initiatives in promoting renewable energies and awareness of environmental and sustainable development issues.

• Visit of the French Ambassador to Ghana

  The AVN-Ghana team was delighted to welcome the visit of François Pujolas, French Ambassador to Ghana, in Bolgatanga.
  The Ambassador was accompanied by representatives of the Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle (SCAC) of he Embassy, and by Frank Fuseini, Deputy Regional Minister of the Upper-East Region. • The SDO and their adoption by French non-state actors

  As a new member of the French Comité 21 network, AVN, along with 48 other members (corporate and territorial representatives, educators, NGO’s, researchers) has contributed to the drafting of a report on the adoption of Sustainable Development Objectives (SDO) by French non-state actors. Two years after its adoption, this report reflects the French commitment to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda established by the UN in 2015.

• Desertification & Habitat: how AVN contributes to the preservation of African ecosystems

• InterAction Forum: AVN invited to Washington meeting on international cooperation

  Amarys Preuss, AVN’s Director of Development, was part of a delegation of French NGO’s invited to Washington in June for the annual InterAction Forum, an American network of NGO’s working in the fields of international development and solidarity. This meeting was organised through the Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle (SCAC) of the French Embassy and Coordination Sud (the French equivalent of InterAction).

• A UN-Habitat/AVN Partnership

  One year after winning the World Habitat Award, AVN recently signed a memorandum of understanding with UN-Habitat for the implementation of joint actions promoting affordable and sustainable housing access for all in Africa. This agreement establishes a cooperation framework materializing a collaboration initiated several years ago and sustained by common ambitions.

• Climate Chance Afrique : l’engagement des acteurs non-étatique pour le continent

• Climate Chance Summit Africa 2018: the commitment of non-state actors for the continent
