Mali: a NV building for the Mopti region
18 January 2018, by Chloé AdloffThe first community construction site of the 2017-18 season in Mali, initiated by the French Bilou-Toguna Association for the Malian NGO Delta-Survie of Mopti, was completed at the end of December. This 37 m2 dormitory was built in a few weeks by a young Malian artisan mason, Abdoulaye Fané, and his team. This is one of the few NV buildings in the Mopti region, after those completed near Badiangara.

The experiences of NV trainees in Benin using the intensified training modules

This module forms part of the intensified training actions being implemented by AVN to accelerate and improve training of NV masons. AVN at the World Urban Forum
6 April 2018, by Chloé AdloffCécilia Rinaudo, AVN Deputy Director, took part last February in the World Urban Forum 9 (WUF9), the first global meeting organised by UN-Habitat following the Habitat III Conference in Quito in 2016, at which the new urban agenda was adopted. Over 22,000 participants from 165 countries took part to exchange views and experiences on urban challenges.

The first NV healthcare building in Ghana

AVN Burkina awarded the special SIERO Eco-Habitat prize
15 February 2018, by Chloé AdloffAfter participating in Ouagadougou’s Salon International l’Environnement et des Énergies Renouvelables (SIERO) last season, AVN Burkina Faso was awarded the special SIERO Eco-Habitat prize for sustainable development. Two major prizes and eight special prizes were awarded at the 6th anniversary of the Salon in May 2017.
